Age range and group size:

A drop off session for children aged between 5 and 10 years.


The fun to be had....?

A farm and forest school session catered for children who love the outdoors and farm animals, enjoy forest school experiences, making crafts, exploring and playing.


During the session we will...

  • Explore the farm, meet, greet and feed some of our farm animals, including Rosemary the donkey and Jigsaw and Puzzle the goats.

  • Get up close and meet the 3/4 week old lambs. There may even be one or two to feed a bottle to.

  • Learn some fire lighting skills using a flint and steel to light our campfire.

  • Make damper bread to cook over the fire

  • Learn to use hand tools to create your own wood craft item

  • Tree swing and hammock fun

  • Bug hunting

  • Playing and exploring

  • Hot chocolate and marshmallows

  • And lot of lots of fun memories to make!


Child tickets £14.00 includes all craft items to take home, hot chocolate, marshmallows and cooking activity


What to bring along and wear:

  • A cup for your child

  • Any snacks for your child that you would like them to have.

  • If possible a pair a gardening or rigger gloves for your child to use for woodwork activities.

  • Weather appropriate clothes and footwear for farm and outdoor environments.

My child has food allergies

There is a section on the order form to complete with any food allergies. If you would like to discuss any food allergies or other requirements further please do get in touch.


  • All staff and volunteers will take a lateral flow Covid test regularly and in line with Government guidelines.

  • Hand sanitiser and hand washing facilities will be available to use at regular intervals and are situated around the site

  • Track and Trace venue QR scan code available on site.

  • Cancellation and refund policy:

  • If in the unfortunate event we are unable to run the session due to newly imposed lockdown restrictions we will issue everyone with a full a refund.

  • If your child unable to attend due to you having to self isolate, have Covid or for any other reason, unfortunately we will not be able to offer a refund.

What happens if the weather is bad?

We will continue the session in most weathers and have use of a communal greenhouse to run activities in if needed. All adults will wear a face covering whilst in the greenhouse.

Where is Applefield?

Applefield is a small private smallholding in Sidlesham, near Chichester.

What are the facilities?

There is a composting toilet, running water and hand washing facilities. Children can be dropped off by the front gate, we will be waiting at the gate for the children.


Your information and how we use it

At time of booking we require some information about you and your child, for example allergies, alternative needs or special requirements, first aid, email and emergency contact phone number. This information is only kept for the duration of the course or event and your contact number will only be used by us in the event of an emergency arising with your child or if we need to contact attendees prior to the event to give extra information. If you consent for us to use your email to contact about future events, this will only be used by Woodland Wonders (we do not pass these details onto any other 3rd party) and will be used only to send details of other events run by Woodland Wonders that we think you may be interested in. If you consent for photos to be used, these will only be used for our Facebook page, website and promotional purposes only and are not passed onto anyone else. If you no longer want us to contact you this way, please email us and we will remove you from our emailing
