A drop off session for children aged 5 to 11 years old. For unaccompanied children

 

The fun to be had....

Come and join the mayhem in the woods, where children can explore, create, investigate and learn in our fun packed morning.

  • Learn how to use tools safely to make bushcraft items from wood or foraged materials

  • Learn some whittling techniques

  • Have a go at fire lighting using a flint and steel and make a campfire to toast some marshmallows

  • Make dens with new friends

  • Create outdoor games

  • Play on the rope swing or relax in the hammock

Also, let's not forget it is Easter time, so we'll go on an Easter egg hunt around the woods....where will yours be hidden!!

 

Marshmallows and Mayhem is a child-led session where children are welcome to join in the activities offered, spend their time playing with new friends or explore our woodland camp. We encourage children to use their imaginations, get creative and learn something new in a safe and managed environment.

 

Price:

Child tickets £14.00 includes all craft and bushcraft items to take home, drink, marshmallows and chocolate Easter Egg.

FAQ's

What to wear and bring?

All participants are advised to wear appropriate outdoor clothes and outdoor footwear for woodland terrains, warm clothes and wet weather clothes if necessary. We provide a drink for the children, but please feel free to send a spare and a snack if required.

What happens if the weather is bad?

We will continue the session in most weathers and will put up tarps for shelter if there is risk of rain.

Who are running the sessions and what are your ratio's?

We run our sessions to a high adult to child ratio aiming for a 1:5 ratio. Your session will be run by a forest school level 3 trained leader who is outdoor first aid certified, plus our regular volunteers, ensuring your child has enough time to learn how the skills needed for each activity available and at a pace that is suited to their individual needs. All our volunteers and forest school leaders hold current and relevant DBS certificates. These can be produced on request.

Where is Seeley Copse?

Seeley Copse is a private copse owned by Goodwood Estates, designed for educational use and forest school experiences.

What are the facilities?

We have use of basic compost toilets, running water and hand washing facilities. There is also a large free car park for numerous vehicles.

My child has food allergies

If your child has food allergies, please let us know in advance so we can discuss your child's individual needs and that we can cater for them on the day.

Your information and how we use it

At time of booking we require some information about you and your child, for example allergies, alternative needs or special requirements, first aid, email and emergency contact phone number. This information is only kept for the duration of the course or event and your contact number will only be used by us in the event of an emergency arising with your child or if we need to contact attendees prior to the event to give extra information. If you consent for us to use your email to contact about future events, this will only be used by Woodland Wonders (we do not pass these details onto any other 3rd party) and will be used only to send details of other events run by Woodland Wonders that we think you may be interested in. If you consent for photos to be used, these will only be used for our facebook page, website and promotional purposes only and are not passed onto anyone else.
