The fun to be had....?

The perfect day for children who love art, crafts, creating and enjoying spending time outdoors. You will spend the day learning techniques and making art and crafts to create your own sketchbook to take home. You will use the natural resources of the woods and learn different techniques to make your creations, such as making natural paints, ink and charcoal, printing with leaves on fabric, making your own natural paintbrushes and different objects to create various patterns and shapes. By the end of the day your sketchbook will be a reflection of your personality and creativity and will be full of lots of new ideas and ways of working and something that you can continue using into the future.

With some forest school activities included in the day, you will learn some fire lighting techniques, whittling sticks for charcoal making and using the campfire to create the ink we will be using. We will also be toasting marshmallows to enjoy around the campfire.

FAQ's

Who are running the sessions and what are your ratio's?

We run our sessions to a high adult to child ratio, aiming for 1:5. I am a forest school level 3 trained leader and also hold a degree in art and have been working with children and adults with learning difficulties teaching art and crafts for many years. With this combination of skills I have created this day course for children who love the outdoors and creating. I am also outdoor first aid certified. These sessions are run with the help of regular volunteers ensuring your child has enough time to learn the skills needed for each activity available and at a pace that is suited to their individual needs. All our volunteers and forest school leaders hold current and relevant DBS certificates. These can be produced on request.
