DESCRIPTION:About the Course\nThe Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering delivered in the outdoors is designed to meet the food safety needs of those working in catering and hospitality\, with a particular focus on cooking in the open air. \nThe course blends theory with practical experience\, allowing participants to enjoy cooking lunch outdoors while developing good food safety practices. \nThe course includes: \n\nImportance of Food Safety in the Outdoors & HACCP Implementation\nMicrobial Hazards – Where are they lurking?\nFoodborne Illnesses & Outdoor Cooking Risks\nHygiene Control: Temperature\, Storage\, Handling\, Preparation\, Cooking & Equipment\nPersonal Hygiene Best Practices\nDeveloping a HACCP Plan Relevant to Your Practice\n\nIf you have responsibility for ensuring food safety for children\, young people\, or adults\, this qualification will provide valuable knowledge and practical skills. The training covers good hygiene practices\, emphasising the 4 Cs: Chilling\, Cooking\, Cleaning and Contamination. Participants will also learn about monitoring\, controls corrective actions and reporting methods as part of a food safety management system. \nThis course is ideal for: \n\nForest School Leaders\nChildren’s Workers\nScouts & Guides.\nVolunteers\nAnyone who handles or cooks food outdoors.\n\nTrainer Information\nThis course is delivered by Sarah Blake from Blake Training\, an experienced trainer who originally developed this course with Lantra Awards and now provides training under the nationally recognised Level 2 qualification. We have a covered area and a greenhouse for shelter. All attendees should dress appropriately for the conditions. \nImportant Information: \nAll SEND children\, including siblings\, require bookings using their HAF codes.\nSiblings under school age and parents/carers do not need to book their places. \nCost: Free\, funded by the WSCC Holidays and Activities Grant.
