DESCRIPTION:Beat the Boredom – Wild Beach School sessions! \nWe are very excited to be running these popular holiday sessions throughout the Easter break again this year\, and as well as our paid for places we are thrilled to once again be able to offer a number of places free to children who receive free school meals\, funded by WSCC HAF. \nAll children who attend these sessions will receive snacks\, a picnic style lunch and drink. \nAge range: These sessions are drop off and are for children aged 5 to 11yrs. \nWhat we will be doing: \nEngaging young minds in a fun and enriching way through a variety of different wild beach learning activities at each session. \n\nScavenger hunts and identifying life on our coastline\nEnvironmental awareness and conservation\nLearning through discovery\, exploration and playing\nThe tides and moon!\nFun and interactive games and activities\nWild science and problem solving challenges\nTeam games and challenges\nStory telling\nMapping\, tracking and trailing\nWild art and natural crafts\nHow to stay safe on the beach\nBe involved in lunch preparation and learn about healthy food and healthy eating\nFun and engaging age appropriate activities\nAnd anything else we can think of!!!\n\nLocation: West Beach\, Littlehampton\, BN17 5LH. Whilst we have been planning our fun activities a very mischievous Peter rabbit has hidden our vegetable ingredients for our soup around the woodlands! Can you help us find them before he and his friends eat them all! Here are some of the fun activities on offer throughout our morning: \n\nHelp prepare our vegetable ingredients for our campfire soup. \nSaw a piece of wood to make into a log bunny!\nMake an animal character mask.\nEnjoy a hot chocolate around the campfire\nMake a mud soup in our mud kitchen area\nWhittle a stick to toast a marshmallow over our fire\n\nWhen you have finished making\, why not spend some time exploring and playing in the woods\, bug hunt\, relax in the hammock\, have a go on the rope swing or maybe build a den fit for a mischievous rabbit!!I am sure all this fun will be making you feel hungry\, so whilst you listen to a Peter Rabbit story why not try some of the vegetable soup that has been cooking over our fire. Our forest school sessions are designed with nature connection at its core that enables our learners to nurture a life-long love and understanding of the natural world. \nOtto the therapy dog will be supporting the sessions and is looking forward to making new little hooman friends and helping the children settle in. He says his favourite things are playing\, exploring and eating snacks\, preferably not his own! \nOur sessions will be inspired by the seasons and the children who attend\, and will be different every week. Below are some examples of the activities and benefits we will offer over the term. \n\nCrafts activities using natural resources that inspire creativity\nTool use\, such as sawing\, drilling\, whittling and chopping that develop fine and gross motor skills\nGreen woodworking\nFire lighting using a flint and steel and making the campfire\nCampfire snack cooking\, such as marshmallows\, pastries and bread.\nLearning about nature\, bug hunting and the animals that live and visit our environment\nMud kitchen\, swing and hammock\nInteracting with new people and building new friendships\nPositive and cherished life-long memories made between the child and their parent or care giver.\n\nSessions are run by a level 3 forest school leader\, forest school assistant.
