DESCRIPTION:Age range: Parent/carer and child morning for ages 18m to 8 years. Parents and siblings aged under 18 months attend for free. \nThe fun to be had….? \nThere are lots of fun activities to do at The Very Hungry Caterpillar session with your grown ups. You can make a paper pot and sow a seed to take home and grow into a plant that the very hungry caterpillar and her friends would love to munch through\, make a bead butterfly to play with and take home with you. Saw a piece of wood and thread things together to make your own very hungry caterpillar character and make a very hungry caterpillar crown! \nThe Very Hungry Caterpillar favourite thing to do is eating lots of different fruit and for our snack we will have lots of delicious fruit to make into fruit kebabs to munch through too. \nThere will also be time to explore the farm\, meet and greet some of the animals that live there\, play in our wooded area where you will find the swing\, hammock and mud kitchen. It is also a very good place to search for bugs. \nWe will also toast marshmallows over our campfire and finish the session with the story. \nSelf service drinks are available for adults and children\, please bring a cup with you and help yourself throughout the session. \nPlease contact us with any questions: woodlandwondersforestschool@gmail.com \nPrice: Child tickets £14.00 includes all craft items to take home and activities. \nChildren under 18 months attend for free when accompanied by a full paying child. Parents/carers and children aged under 18 months attend for free when accompanied by a paying sibling. \nThe fun to be had….? Peter Rabbit has been causing mayhem in our woods!! Whilst we have been planning our fun activities a very mischievous Peter rabbit has hidden our vegetable ingredients for our soup around the woodlands! Can you help us find them before he and his friends eat them all! Here are some of the fun activities on offer throughout our morning: \n\nHelp prepare our vegetable ingredients for our campfire soup. \nSaw a piece of wood to make into a log bunny!\nMake an animal character mask.\nEnjoy a hot chocolate around the campfire\nMake a mud soup in our mud kitchen area\nWhittle a stick to toast a marshmallow over our fire\n\nWhen you have finished making\, why not spend some time exploring and playing in the woods\, bug hunt\, relax in the hammock\, have a go on the rope swing or maybe build a den fit for a mischievous rabbit!!I am sure all this fun will be making you feel hungry\, so whilst you listen to a Peter Rabbit story why not try some of the vegetable soup that has been cooking over our fire. Our forest school sessions are designed with nature connection at its core that enables our learners to nurture a life-long love and understanding of the natural world. \nOtto the therapy dog will be supporting the sessions and is looking forward to making new little hooman friends and helping the children settle in. He says his favourite things are playing\, exploring and eating snacks\, preferably not his own! \nOur sessions will be inspired by the seasons and the children who attend\, and will be different every week. Your child will experience life on a smallholding\, meet and greet the animals\, explore the farm and experience some forest school activities. \nWe love creating at Little Wonders and each week there will be a new creation to take home and treasure. We use a variety of natural foraged items and crafting materials to make imaginative seasonal creations\, learn how to saw wood\, use palm drills to make holes in wood and some fire lighting too. There will also be opportunities to go on a mini bug hunt\, relax in the hammock\, have a go on our nest swing\, play in the mud kitchen and explore. \nEach week we have a camp fire and one of the favourite things the children like to do is toasting marshmallows or another snack cooking activity that we occasionally do. Tool work\, fire lighting\, campfire cooking\, shelter building and bushcraft are on the agenda\, or maybe sometime to explore\, make new friends or just relax and connect with themselves and be at one with nature! Our sessions are inspired by the children for the children\, using nature at its heart. With a relaxed learner led approach children can make choices about their time with us\, their skill development\, and learning opportunities following their own learning style. \nOtto the therapy dog will be supporting the sessions and is looking forward to making new hooman friends and helping the children settle in. He says his favourite things are playing\, exploring and eating snacks\, preferably not his own! \nThese sessions are also a great opportunity for parents to come together\, you can decide how involved you would like to be\, participate in the activities offered or have a chat and coffee with like minded individuals. These sessions are as much for the adult as they are for the children (An adult is required to stay for the duration of the session). \nSessions are run by a level 3 forest school leader\, forest school assistant.
