Wheely Wonders Wellbeing Day

Wheely Wonders Wellbeing Day

15 August 2021
A wellbeing day for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities and their families.

Who is this day for?

These sessions are specifically designed for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities, physically disabled children and young people, their siblings, parents and carers, set at Applefield, a beautiful, intimate and private smallholding in Sidlesham, near Selsey.

The fun to be had!..

We are going to focus our day on Wellbeing as we think that Applefield is a very therapeutic and relaxing place to be and would love you to join us at Wheely Wonders Wellbeing family day. We will spend some time meeting and greeting the animals. Feeding Rosemary the donkey and Jigsaw and Puzzle the goats. There will also be some forest school activities such as sawing or whittling sticks. Fire lighting and a campfire to toast marshmallows over. In our wooded area you will find the mud kitchen, bug hunting, the swing and hammock too.

Please bring your picnics to enjoy a socially distancing lunch.

The afternoon will be spent at Lizzie’s Craft Club, making and creating some lovely crafts to take home to remind you of your time at Applefield.

Our day wouldn’t be complete without some relaxation time to spend chatting to other families and most importantly making some life long memories and well deserved quality time with your children.

Places are fully funded by Wellspring West Sussex. Please book your free tickets for all children and adults that are attending, please include any other information that you would like us to know.

Important information about your booking:

We are limiting bookings to only one of our days per family group and a maximum of two adults per family. Please do not book onto both days as we would like to offer these sessions to as many families as we can. Places are also non transferrable.

Places are limited at these sessions. If you are unable to book on, please add yourself to the waitlist and you will be notified if a place becomes available.

Likewise if you are unable to attend please let us know asap so we can offer your place to someone on the waitlist.

All staff and volunteers regularly Covid test in line with Government guidance. Adults do not need to wear a face mask whilst outside, but if they use the greenhouse facemasks will need to be worn. We will keep a register of all those who attend for track and trace purposes and have the track and trace QR code for people to use too. There are multiple mobile hand washing and sanitiser stations around the site.

Please do not attend the session if you or anyone you have come into contact with have Covid symptom, are awaiting a Covid test or has been tested positive for Covid in the last 14 days.

Things to note:

Parking will be available on the field (weather permitting) or in the farmyard with plenty of wheelchair access and space for lowering ramps etc. The site is wheelchair accessible, with a wheelchair friendly bathroom and changing area.

Please bring a picnic and a cup for adults and children as we will be providing a self service hot drink facility. Also bring a picnic blanket or folding chair if you would like some comfort.
