The fun to be had....?

We are combining Curious Minds and Wheely Wonders to bring you "A Wheely Curious Christmas" family day of forest school, farm fun and crafts, set at Applefield, a beautiful, intimate and private smallholding in Sidlesham, near Selsey.

In the morning we will be exploring the farm to meet and greet the animals. There are goats, chickens, ponies and even a donkey to see and feed.

There will be lots of Christmas themed natural crafts to keep us entertained throughout the morning and these can be adapted to suit the individual abilities of the children. Children can learn how to use some basic hand tools to make and create a mini Reindee, tiny elves from foraged wood and wooden disc Christmas decorations to hang on your tree. Learn some fire lighting skills using a flint and steel to create our camp fire to heat our water for hot chocoate, whittle a stick to toast some marshmallows.

Lunchtime will be approx 12.30 to 1pm and families will have use of the communal greenhouse area to relax and have picnics before enjoying an afternoon of Christmas crafts with Lizzie.

Lizzie's craft club will be held in the communial greenhouse. There are lots of Christmas themed craft items to make with Lizzie to keep and remember your Wheely Curious Christmas family day at Applefield. You will have the opportunity to make baubles, tinsel-pipe cleaner decorations and an individually designed tea towel.  A drink and biscuit will also be provided during craft club. Places at Lizzie's craft club for special needs children and their siblings are funded by Wellspring West Sussex, reducing the overall cost of the day of activities at Applefield.

£15.00 per child, (siblings under 2 come free) Parents/carers do not pay for a ticket.

Things to note:

Parking will be available on the drive or front of house, where there will be space for wheelchair lifts etc.

The site is wheelchair accessible, with a wheelchair friendly toilet and changing area.

If you are staying all day, please bring a picnic with you, we will be using the greenhouse to keep us warm from the elements and activities will be dependent on the weather and adapted to suit the climate at the time and can use this area for picnicing too.
